Patricia Izzo received her BS in Art Education from Northern Michigan University with an honorary assistantship in her Masters of Arts Program. Patricia has received numerous awards including first place in the Metro Times juried Photographic Exhibition. She has twice been awarded the prestigious Gold Medal, in the annual state-wide Michigan Photographic Competition. Patricia has been honored as a finalist in the Michigan Governors Award for “Arts in the Community”. She has been selected as the first fine art photographer in the annual Metropolitan Girl Scout’s Benefit Exhibition. Patricia’s photography has been featured in publications, such as the Wayne State Alumni Magazine, Home Décor, Woman’s Day, and Style. She has had numerous shows throughout the Detroit Metropolitan area, the East Coast, and Traverse City Galleries and Museums. Currently, her work is part of the Detroit Focus 2000 Portfolio, traveling both nationally and internationally.
Patricia is a member of the Scarab Club, Birmingham Bloomfield Arts Association, Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors, Michigan Friends of Photography and the Ann Arbor Women Artists. She serves on the board for the Downriver Council of the Arts. Patricia also serves The Opportunity Center/Guidance Center by working through her art, with at- risk children.
