Victor's Family
Joe the eldest son
of Victor was born in 1933. At the age of 16 he went to Harrogate
England as an British Army Apprentice. He had a very successful career in
the Royal Corp of Signals, reaching the rank of Major before he retired. He
saw action in Suez in the 50's, Cyprus and The Falklands. Joe married
Marlene Engerer and had 3 children, twins Diane and Monique
and Pierre.
George born in
1934, was educated at the Lyceum in Valetta. He spent his earlier years at
the Salesian Oratory where he was a member of the Salesian Boys Brigade. He
emigrated to England in 1955. He was a Radio Technian in the Royal Corp of
Signals.In 1964 he joined Westinghouse Systems as an Electronics Engineer
spending 28 years of his life working there. In 1991he formed his own
company with 4 engineers who worked for him at Westinghouse. The company was
called Pentagon Electronics Ltd. He retired in 1995. George married
Brenda March in 1957 and they had 4 children, Julian (b1958),
Kevin (b.1959) , Cristina (b.1961) and Paul (b.1964).
Julian joined the RAMC when he was 18 and become a Theatre Technician.
He worked in a number of NHS hospitals in Winsor, Truro and Llanelli where
he became Chief Theatre Technician. In 2002 he was appointed Manager of
Theatres at Cardiff University Hospital. He married Susan Kirwan and have 2
children Chantelle and Michelle. Kevin joined the British Army
in 1975 as an apprentice when he was 16. He reached the rank of Warrant
Officer I. Kevin saw action with the RLC (RAOC) in Cyprus, the Falklands and
the Gulf in 1991where he saw a few scud missiles flying over his base. He
retired after 25 years service as a systems analyst. He married a Norwegian
girl called Ingunn Guilderness and they had a son Steffen (b.1984 in Hong
Kong). He divorced Ingunn in 1995 and was married again in 2000 to
Jamie Niziol daughter of an American Baptist minister, by whom he has a
daughter Lilian May (b.2006) . Cristina
(Tina) married Robert Burns and they have 3 children, Tom who is in his
5th year at Plymouth University doing an Architect's course, Joanna who is
an accountant in Weston super Mare and Aimee the youngest who is at Uni in
Bournemouth studying Forensic Science. Paul
the baby of George's children studied to be a Financial Advisor. He
married Barbara Forbes in 1990 and had 2 children, Sofie and Charlie. He
was divorced from Barbara in 1995 and in 1998 he was remarried to Lisa
Hulbert with whom he has 2 sons Oliver and Samuel and a daughter Katherine.
Paul was divorced from Lisa in 2006.
Dorothy (b.1938)
who was an Air Malta hostess in her younger days, married Richard
Vella-Bamber, who passed away in 1998 at the age of 60.Richard was
assistant manager at the Phoenicia Hotel in Floriana. They had 3 children
Paul, Karen and James. Paul married a Dutch girl
Iris Vleot and they have a son Tomas. They live in Holland.
Karen married Michael Borg and they have 2 daughters
Gillian and Theresa. James is still single,
working for an Accountancy company in Malta.
Valerie (b.1948) the youngest of Victor's children
came to live in England after marring Keith Mehew a Londoner. They
have 3 children, Adrian, Clive and David all University
graduates. |
